St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy follows the guidelines and standards put forth by the Office of Catholic Schools Support Services of the Diocese of Brooklyn, and those mandated by the State of New York.

At the Middle School, support periods are embedded into the schedule. With this concept, each Teacher meets with each of their four classes (Grades 5, 6, 7, 8) for one extra period. Teachers use this time for many reasons, including but not limited to differentiated instruction, test prep and extra immersion into a topic of importance.
I-Ready is regularly used at all Diocesan schools. It is a diagnostic/prescriptive tool that helps identify a student’s strengths/weaknesses in areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Testing takes place at the beginning, middle and end of each school year for all students, Grades K-8. Teachers will use the data derived from this in order to adjust their instruction to meet the needs of their students.
