My role as a middle school teacher is to develop independent young men and women. I hope by providing unique learning experiences that students develop critical thinking and reasoning skills that will aid them in succeeding in the future.
Adolescents learn best from challenges and high standards. They are not all the same and so those challenges are not all the same. My ultimate goal is to create a safe environment where students have a growth mindset and can freely make mistakes in their learning process. I do not believe students can be fully expected to learn by strict note taking and drill sheets. It also takes innovative activities, both virtual and in person.
As a middle school teacher I am committed to challenging students to think on their own, but for them to always know they have a support system when they are struggling. I work hard to ensure students achieve beyond what they think they are capable of and be prepared for their next stage in life.
